MESSAGE for WCEM - 2004
I am pleased to
have government of Himachal Pradesh partner with the World Environment
Foundation, World Quality Council and the Institute Of Directors
for a global meet on Environment Management with the theme of
"Catalysing Public & Private Partnerships for Social &
Environmental actions".
Himachal Pradesh
is a land of abundant natural resourses. Our Government plans
to undertake a variety of initiatives to provide new directions
to bring about its economic resurgence through sustainable development.
Our thrust areas are eco-tourism, Hydel Development, biotechnology,
information technology and developing floriculture and Himalayan
bio-o-resources.
I commend the
efforts of World Environment Foundation to put a spot light
on Himachal Pradesh for the 4th consecutive year.
I welcome all
delegates to this Congress and assure them that my government
will do everything to assist them and make them feel that their
effort and investment are worthwile.
