The 4th World Congress on Environment Management 
concluded on 7-9 June 2002 at SM Convention Centre, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. It was inaugurated by the renowned Noble Laureate His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 7th June 2002 who has also presented the Golden Peacock Awards on Corporate Social Responsibility, Natural Capital Management, Environmental Leadership and Life Time Achievement Award in Ecology. This very unique and exciting event took place Palampur, a small town, nestling in Himalayas' most picturesque valley, in India's Himachal Pradesh from 7-9 June 2002. The theme of the conference is "Sustainability through Good Governance".
